Well, it’s a new month and it’s time for a new roundup of great apps for the jailbroken iPhone. The jailbreak scene continues to grow and talented developers continue to find ways to make the iPhone better and better. The apps below are just a few of the reasons why the iPhone remains the #1 smartphone and why any iPhone owner should strongly consider jailbreaking their device.

Jailbreak Applications
- Dreamboard – $2.99 – Dreamboard lets you place anything from widgets to apps whereever you want. Theming is no longer limited to just icons, or having to resort to complicted setup themes involving Iconoclasm, SpringJumps, etc. Dreamboard makes it easy to switch between any theme in just a few seconds. Simply launch, choose and apply! And, Dreamboard eliminates the long wait of having to restart Springboard every time you make a change. Dreamboard includes a complimentary copy of Endroid (HTc theme). Note: Not compatible with iPad. Not recommended for iPhone 3G, iPod 2G, or iPod 3G 8GB. Tested on 4.1 and 4.2.1.
- ToneFXs 2.0 (Pro) – $4.99 – One of the missing features in the iPhone is the ability to customize sounds on the device. Compared to the competition, this is a field where the iPhone fails, badly. Enter ToneFXs. ToneFXs 2.0 is a jailbreak app that lets you customize all the sounds on your iPhone. That includes anything from custom push notification alerts, custom email alerts, custom email alerts for specific contacts, custom text message alerts for specific numbers, custom calendar alerts and much more.
- biteSMS – This app has been covered before but the latest version has some great new features that warrant its inclusion. biteSMS now works directly with TextFreek allowing for free texting. What’s even better is that you can set how many texts your plan allows and biteSMS will use your carrier until you hit this limit. After that, it will switch to other methods so that you never pay for additional text. Really cool feature. biteSMS also allows you to specify specific tones per person so you don’t even have to look to see who is texting you.
- Springtomize – $2.99 – Springtomize is a tweak that compiles many popular tweaks, into one. Something perfect I read about it was “In a nutshell, Springtomize is like the Walmart of jailbreak tweaks. Come for eggs, and pick up a new vacuum while you’re at it.” Perfect quote. From status bar options, folders, lockscreens, icons, to just the general settings, this has everything. This is absolutely great for newcomers who don’t really know which tweaks to install. Instead of installing about 50 other jailbreak tweaks, just this one will suffice. And I’m talking at least 50 tweaks. Even things such as custom docks and resizing your icons, check it off your list. There isn’t much more to say about this, except it is well worth the download. If you are flirting with the idea, you can always download a trial and check it out.
Well, that’s it for now! There are always great, new apps popping up in Cydia and the above apps are some of my favorite ones from the past month. These apps are all great reasons to jailbreak the iPhone and much thanks goes out to the Dev Team, Chronic Dev, Comex and Geohot for their continued work in the jailbreak scene.
Thanks for reading and happy iPhone-ing!
