Notifications on iOS are one of the operating system’s weakpoints. Peter Hajas’ MobileNotifier hack finally brings them into the modern era.
If you’re like me, you get very tired of having a Twitter or e-mail alert pop up in the middle of what you’re doing and forcing you to respond. Even worse, pulling your iDevice off the nightstand in the morning to be greeted by a stack of alerts which can only be viewed in order, and dismissed one by one. I think anyone would be hard pressed to claim that the iPad 2 is not a solid tablet. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and I find it noticeably faster and better than the original iPad. However, one thing the iPad 2 lacks is a jailbreak. Sure, all the big hackers are working on the jailbreak but so far no one has succeeded.

These are the slides that go along with a talk I gave recently on pediatric radiology. Included are some statistics on imaging, revision of guidelines for pediatric patients, a dosing table for procedures in mGy and six clinical cases including aortic coarctation, copper beaten skull, osteogenesis imperfecta, cystic fibrosis, Tetralogy of Fallot and Aicardi syndrome.
